“Something that I wish I knew before senior year was that all the work you put in your previous years ends up paying off. All your extracurriculars, working to get good grades, participating in a bunch of other out of school activities all ends up paying off. It’s worth it when you go and put it in for your college application. I am going to Saint Anselm University in New Hampshire. What helped me was being a member of CATA for the past three years, playing both high school soccer and basketball. I played club soccer for the past seven years. Out of school I have volunteered at numerous associations, but the one that I showcased the most was volunteering at CCMC in Hartford. It’s really important to volunteer for things that are relative to what you want to do in our future. So, I want to be a pediatric nurse, so volunteering at CCMC was a really good thing to show on my resume. Building up things to put on your resume is really important. All the different activities have allowed me to meet people, create relationships, both in school and out of school.”
