“I would describe my style as eclectic. It’s a bit of everything. I have always been into fashion. I get some inspiration from social media and online, but then I will also just come up with a lot of it on my own. I just like to kind of play around with different things. It usually leads to more interesting outfits.
“I wasn’t into fashion for a while, but then I got back into it sophomore year. Post-COVID I got more into it because there was so much free time. I am planning on majoring in fashion design. I am not totally sure what I want to do in the industry. I would love to design stuff and have my own store. Currently, how much clothing I make depends on when I have time. If I have a lot of time I make stuff. However, when I am working on plays, I don’t make as much.
“One of the biggest fashion projects I worked on was my prom dress. I made a sketch over the summer because I was already planning on doing it for my CAMP project. After I made the sketch I decided to pick out fabric that I really loved. I wasn’t sure if I was going to take the route of making patterns or just draping, but I decided to go with draping. My design changed as I was doing it because I was figuring things out. I had never made something to this magnitude. I would tell those pursuing fashion to not care what everyone else thinks about your outfit and just think about what you like because it doesn’t really matter what other people think. It’s most important that you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing and that’s how I feel confident.”
