It was a quiet week at CHS as everyone appears to be refocused from vacation mode to school mode. Having said that, exam time is drawing near for students taking semester long classes in the first semester. The final exam schedule is as follows (Please note that final exams will have no impact on the regular, daily class schedule for that day.)

Don’t forget to check out the new CHS magazine The Arrow. The Arrow is a news, arts, and literary magazine which is completely staffed by students. We are very proud of their efforts as they take on this new venture with the support of advisor Carla Kurt, and we look forward to reading each article!
If you haven’t cleaned out your closets yet, it’s not too late! CATA’s winter clothing drive runs through January 18th. All gently used winter clothing and footwear in all sizes can be brought to the CHS office and/or room 109.
Athletic News
Our winter sports are off to a very successful start, including our wrestling team which has a home meet tomorrow at 10 am. Come out and support our winter sports! Check out the athletics/CIAC website for the most up to date information on home and away contests.

Snowflake Scramble
Join your friends on snowshoe or hike through the forest on a frosty day for the Snowshoe Scramble! Lights On Canton is partnering with Canton Parks & Recreation Department to hold Canton’s first Snowshoe Scramble on Sunday, January 29 at 1 p.m. starting and ending at Canton High School. The Snowshoe Scramble is a gentle, rambling snowshoe or walk through the woods and Mills Pond Park (or a brisk walk if Mother Nature does not cooperate with snow). Hot chocolate and donuts will be waiting at the end, sledding and snowball fights are highly encouraged and four legged friends are welcome, too! The Snowflake Scramble includes a toasty hat in Canton pride colors and entry into a fantastic raffle. Registration for this fundraiser is $25 per person or $75 for a family of four. LEAVE A LEGACY BRICK
Lights On Canton, the committee raising funds for permanent lights for the CMS/CHS track & field athletic complex, is proud to announce the opening of its “Leave A Legacy” patio brick fundraiser. This large, gorgeous new patio will be placed at the heart of the athletic complex and will feature a dramatic “BIG C” design in Warriors colors. We invite everyone in Canton to show your Warrior pride and donate a brick to the new patio. Here is your ordering information!

Lights on Canton also invites you to “Be a Beacon” in the Canton community by making a larger donation as well. Canton Parks and Recreation is looking for students who would like to work for the remaining of the school year.
