BY MADELYN DUNAHOO
A buck
A doe
A little fawn
Creeping out at the twilight of dawn
Graceful, cautious, and very fast
Three deer go flying past
Twelve hooves go pounding by
The sun is rising in the sky
Feeding on berries
And drinking the fresh morning dew
Watching out for me and you
In the broad daylight they will hide
Trying not to be seen
Ears attentive eyes keen
Lying on the grass all day
It’s where they will stay
And at the next break of dawn
Out will creep a buck a doe, and a little fawn
