Rehearsals Underway for "How to Succeed in Business"

This year, the school play at Canton High School is How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, a musical by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert.
Terri Schulman is excited to have returned as director for a second year. The choreographer, dance teacher Terry Rowe, who has previously worked with some students in her own studio, has also returned for a second year on the school’s musical production.  Diana Lawler, who does all of the choral concerts for the high school, middle school and CIS, is the music director.
English teacher Dusty Rader and music teacher Tom Moran are the technical directors working with the stage managers, Sydney Anderson and Tiegan Aitken.
The play is about a young boy named Finch, who is trying to get a job. Finch starts out in the mail room, but slowly gets promoted without doing any actual work. In the meantime, he finds Rosemary, and the play also goes through them starting to fall in love. The play also consists of many big dance and singing numbers with the whole cast.
The cast consists of Alex Simmonds as Finch, the focus character of the story. Riley Siebers plays Rosemary, who ends up being Finch’s love interest in the play. Mr. Bigley, played by Adam Rivera, is the boss of the company. Bratt, the personnel manager is played by Tim Biondo. Jenna DiMartino plays Smitty, Bratt’s secretary.
When Finch first gets hired, he works with Bud Frump, Mr. Bigley’s nephew, played by Dustin Vankirk. Other leads include Hedy, played by Holli Griffin, Miss.Jones, Mr. Bigley’s secretary, played by Addie Obrzut, Gatch, played by Andres Tuccillo, and Miss. Krumholz played by Sarah Marze. We also have many more members of the cast, who are being a big part of the ensemble.

Performances are on Friday March 17 and Saturday March 18 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, March 19 at 2:00 pm in the Canton High School auditorium.  For tickets, see Mrs. Davidson in the office for ticket order forms or purchase tickets at www.cantonmusictheatre.org after Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
