What I fear most

In my fears I am a doll.
Every day I sit on a shelf,
In the loveliest home,
With the loveliest painted face,
And the loveliest clothes,
Where the loveliest people,
Call me the loveliest doll,
And it is always spring
Everyday I sit on the shelf without control,
Brainless, thoughtless, and emotionless,
Without motion
Without pain
And without life
I dream of leaving the shelf in the lovely home,
I dream of an ambiguous, dynamic world

I dream of my own face,
And my own clothes
I dream of independence,
I dream of respect
But instead,
I sit growing stale,
wasting away on a shelf.
